To install Alfred, download it from the Alfred App homepage or from the Mac App Store.

Once Downloaded

Double-click the dmg to mount the drive. You will see the Alfred application and a shortcut to your Applications folder - just drag the app onto the folder and you're done.

Go to your Applications folder to launch Alfred for the first time. You can then choose to automatically launch on startup.

How do I know when a new version of Alfred is out?

We will regularly update Alfred, so the "Check for Updates" checkbox is ticked by default in the General preferences tab. If you want to check manually, click the "Check now" button.

If you're interested in testing pre-release versions, check the "I want pre-releases" box. Note that these updates can be unstable, so please follow us on Twitter (@alfredapp) to hear the latest news on pre-releases.
